This event is Saving Grace’s own way of supporting charities. We aim to put this event on annually for our chosen charities and are very proud to do so.
Our 2019 theme was ‘All That Glitters’ and we delivered glitter in bucketloads! Our guests were asked to wear ‘Sharp Suits and Dresses that Dazzle’ and our drinks reception began with a champagne and a beautiful jazz singer. As an added twist, we had the Glitter Girls provide glitter paint and make up throughout the evening.
In the main room we installed a large video wall and sparkling dance floor as the central focal point where our band the ‘Coachella Collective’ and talented Lucie Evans, would later perform. Centrepieces were drops of crystal walls and crystal adorned feathers, combined with glitter ball boxes and sophisticated lighting which bounced off the design details. A matching giant glitter-ball became a dance floor centrepiece and was later adorned by a glitter-ball contortionist who performed a stunning acrobatic routine.
Our hostesses dressed in black glitter dresses and worked effortlessly hard with the event host to maximise fundraising. We had a live and silent auction and a fantastic prize draw which included a 5* trip to Budapest with our partners Corinthia Hotels. The band got the after-party started with a glittering soul and funk set with old and new classics, followed by a DJ who quite simply had the dance floor rocking until 1am!
With this event, it proved not everything is in our control. Our original venue had to cancel giving us not even a week to find a new location. We managed to find a new location, change all the arrangements, and inform the guests. Nothing was going to stop us from raising much needed funds for charities.
Sometimes things have a funny way of working out and as you can see from the photographs and footage, this event was always meant to have been held at the Edwardian.
